Where fathers lead, children open up, and legacy takes root.
Legacy Waters Adventure is a Christ-centered father and child beach/fishing camp at Padre Island National Seashore, created for fathers who want more than a trip — they want a turning point.
The mission
To strengthen father-child relationships with Christ at the center.
Connection
We create uninterrupted space where fathers and children can laugh, fish, cook, talk, and reconnect without the noise of everyday life.
Faith
The weekend is rooted in Scripture, prayer, and simple, powerful lessons that fathers can carry home.
Legacy
The goal is not just a good weekend. It is a stronger bond, deeper trust, and a memory that keeps shaping the family.
The experience
Raw. Beautiful. Unplugged. Built for real conversations.
Weekend rhythm
Friday: Fathers and children meet in Corpus Christi for lunch, then caravan to Padre Island National Seashore. Depending on beach conditions, the beach drive to camp generally takes one to two hours.
Camp setup: Families set up campsites along the beach near the fishing grounds, with space to breathe and room for privacy.
Saturday: Fishing, cooking, beach time, father-child questions, and a meaningful campfire lesson.
Sunday: Breakfast, reflection, prayer, cleanup, and the drive home with a story that lasts.
Signature lesson
The Soil & The Seed
Matthew 13 — The Parable of the Sower
Fishing isn’t just about the bait. It’s about where it lands.
The seed is always good. The difference is the soil. Fathers are called to help shape the soil of their child’s heart before the world does.
Path
Hard Heart
A father learns to soften the ground through presence, patience, prayer, and time.
Rocky
Shallow Faith
A child needs roots — not just a weekend memory.
Thorns
Distracted Life
Phones, pressure, fear, and noise get cleared away on the beach.
Good Soil
Faithful Heart
Every conversation is a seed. Every trip is water. Every example is sunlight.
Founder letter
Ask any adult what their favorite memory is with their dad.
Most won’t talk about a gift… or something that was bought for them. They’ll tell you about time spent outdoors. An experience. On a trip. Out in nature. Doing something together.
Because deep down, those are the moments that stay.
Some of my earliest memories aren’t things… they’re moments.
Standing next to my dad. Water at our feet. Silence, but not empty—full of something I didn’t understand at the time.
Looking back now, I realize those weren’t just fishing trips. They were moments that shaped me.
They told me I mattered. They showed me what a man looks like. They planted something in me that I’m living out today.
But here’s the truth I can’t ignore— Not every child gets that.
Too many kids are growing up without a present father. Too many dads want to lead, but don’t know how. And too many families are drifting… distracted, disconnected, and missing the moments that actually matter.
I’ve lived long enough to know this:
That’s something I’ve learned the hard way.
In 2023, after 20 years of marriage, I walked through a divorce. And in the middle of that, I watched how quickly voices, influences, and circumstances can begin to shape a child’s heart in ways you never intended.
It makes you realize just how much is at stake. How important presence really is. And how fragile that connection can be until it’s gone.
But by the grace of God, I still have one son who looks at me like I hung the moon.
We camp under the stars miles away from anyone off the grid at Padre Island National Seashore every chance we get—sometimes multiple times a year, a week at a time.
We fish in the surf and catch redfish, blacktip shark, speckled trout, jacks, stingray, pompano, whiting, catfish, black drum, and skipjack. We keep one or two fish for dinner each day and cook over the campfire.
Out there… it’s different.
No noise. No pressure. Just time together in God’s country.
And I’ve seen firsthand—those moments matter more than anything.
That’s why Legacy Waters exists.
Not as an event. Not as a weekend getaway. But as a turning point.
Jeremy Enlow
Founder, Legacy Waters Adventure
Founded by Jeremy Enlow — a father, guide, and 7th generation Texan.
Legacy Waters Adventure was not built from theory. It was built from real life, real pain, real redemption, and real time under Texas stars.
Jeremy is from Fort Worth, a native of Granbury, and a father who believes the outdoors can become holy ground when fathers lead intentionally.
At Padre Island National Seashore, he discovered firsthand that surf, silence, campfires, and uninterrupted time can reconnect hearts in ways modern life often cannot.
Legacy Waters exists so more fathers and children can experience what too many families are missing: presence, faith, courage, and unforgettable moments together.

Who Should Attend?
Legacy Waters Adventure was created for one simple reason: To give a father and child one of the best weekends of their lives—together. This experience is designed for North Texas fathers (or father figures) and school-age children. It is intentionally built around one father and one child because something powerful happens when a child gets their dad fully present, undistracted, all to themselves. Multiple children are welcome, but if possible, we strongly encourage fathers to take each child on their own trip—because every child deserves their moment, their conversation, and their memory with you.
What’s the Timeline?
Friday – The Beginning: The trip begins when you leave your driveway Thursday night or early Friday morning. Fathers and children gather in Corpus Christi at Noon for lunch. Phones go down. Conversations begin. After lunch, families caravan together to Padre Island National Seashore. Once at the remote fishing grounds, campsites are set up hundreds of yards apart, giving each father and child their own private space.
Friday Afternoon – Saturday Sunset: This is the heart of Legacy Waters. No rigid schedule. No pressure. No distractions. Fathers and children choose their own adventure: surf fishing, swimming, exploring dunes, seashell hunting, games, reading, talking, or simply sitting by the waves. Guided question binders help spark deeper conversations because kids open up when there’s space.
Saturday Night – Around the Fire: At sunset, all gather at Guide Jeremy’s campsite for surf & turf, storytelling, laughter, and the powerful Soil & The Seed lesson. Around the fire, under the stars, fathers and children talk about what matters most.
Sunday – Heading Home: Sunday is slower. Breakfast, cleanup, caravan out, departure around Noon—and the realization that you didn’t just spend time together… you invested in something that lasts.
Are We Really Camping Off the Grid?
Yes—completely. No cell service. No electricity. No stores. Just ocean waves, sunrises, sunsets, and stars most families never see. At first it feels unfamiliar. Then it feels exactly right.
What Do I Need to Bring?
You bring: open mind, open heart, bedding, favorite drinks/snacks, long sleeve sun shirts, swimsuits, sunscreen, Bible or favorite book, and a Texas fishing license if age 17+.
What Does Legacy Waters Adventure Provide?
Legacy Waters provides nearly everything needed for a successful weekend: tent, cots, canopy, camp chairs, cooking gear, portable toilet, shower, water, first aid, firewood, food, elite surf fishing rods, tackle, bait, buckets, cast net, fishing binder, and Saturday night surf & turf dinner.
Is It Hot in Summer?
Beach wind changes everything. Shade and airflow are key. We provide canopies and battery-powered tent fans. Light sheets are preferred over sleeping bags.
Emergency Contact?
Guide Jeremy maintains Starlink internet access at his campsite and/or vehicle for emergency communication.
What Kind of Vehicle Do I Need?
Four-wheel drive is strongly recommended, though many SUVs/trucks can work with aired-down tires. Guide Jeremy carries compressors, tow straps, and logistics support. Rentals and carpool options are available for those without beach-capable vehicles.
Special Circumstances?
Legacy Waters accommodates disabilities, dietary restrictions, food allergies, CPAP users, and unique participant needs whenever possible. Reach out directly with concerns.
Cancellation Policy
15+ Days Before Camp: Full refund minus $100 administrative fee. 0–14 Days: No refund. Transfers allowed with approval. Unsafe weather may trigger reschedule or refund. Medical/family emergencies are reviewed case-by-case.
What Is Not Allowed at Padre Island National Seashore?
No firearms discharge, fireworks, illegal vehicles, dune driving, disturbing wildlife, or ignoring park/fishing laws. This is a National Park. Pack in, pack out—and leave it better than you found it.
Why Should I Attend?
This experience is for fathers who know life moves fast, want deeper conversations, want to lead spiritually, and want to create unforgettable memories while the window is still open.
Final Question: Why Does This Matter?
Because time is moving faster than you think. There are only so many moments where your child still wants to be with you, still listens, still looks up to you. This weekend is about stepping into that window while it’s still open. Because if a father doesn’t step in and shape the heart of his child… something else will.
What Will Your Child Remember?
Not the gear. Not the schedule. They’ll remember sitting next to you in the quiet. Laughing when nothing else mattered. Feeling like they had your full attention. They’ll remember… you showed up.
